Aims & Objectives
To support children up to
age of 18 years old suffering from serious, life-threatening
or life-limiting illnesses within the local area. The
Trust will also seek to ensure remaining family members,
brothers & sisters are not forgotten throughout
the duration of such illnesses. To do this we will provide
through direct funding to families:-
- Nursing Care
- Respite Care
- Treatment Costs
- Counselling services
- Bereavement counselling and follow-up
- Transport costs to enable medical treatment to take place where necessary
The Trust will endeavour to ensure that families looking
after a sick or disabled child will be able to source
help locally if their needs are not being met through
HSE Services. For example a set number of nursing hours
per month for a child with an acute illness to enable
parents suffering from lack of sleep to get some much
needed rest or respite care for a sick child or teenager
to give their siblings some 'one on one' time with their
parents.
As this is a very new Charity the needs of the community
will be carefully monitored and adapted as required,
to do this we will liaise with local community health
workers, and the various acute hospitals. We also hope
to link in with local support groups who are already
providing such valuable services to ensure relevant
experienced teams are in place to provide necessary
care. The board of trustees will be made up of Solicitors,
Accountants, Local G.P’s, Community Health workers,
Nurses & local residents.
Funding Applications can be made online.
