9-11 September 2016 - Laura Brennan Memorial Tournament 2016

Hosted by Killester Basketball Club the 7th annual LBMT tournament took place in St Fintans High School Sutton. Laura was part of a fantastic team that represented Killester with such great pride and integrity. Laura's team mates, Aisling, Sarah, Jenny, Kate, Jade, Iseult, Ciara, Ruth, Alex and Hannah come together every year to make this such a special occasion.

This year saw 8 teams do battle for the superb crystal trophy - Killester, Liffey Celtics, Brunell, Portlaoise, DCU Mercy, Malahide, Oblate Dynamos and Waterford Wildcats. After some brilliant and exciting basketball, the Final saw the pairing of DCU Mercy (the Holders) and Brunell. The Final didn't disappoint and in a thrilling game it was DCU Mercy that prevailed to retain the title and their 3rd overall.

For the first time we presented The Laura Brennan Award which was to go to the player that we felt most epitomised the spirit of Laura. We were thrilled and delighted to make this award to Amy Murphy of Brunell Ladies - hugely deserved Amy.
