28.08.2014 Bridewell 2 Bridewell Charity Cycle
On Thursday the 28th August 2014 approximately 30 hardy souls from An Garda Síochána and Friends
embarked on a 270km cycle from the Bridewell Garda Station in Dublin to the Bridewell Garda Station in Cork,
all in aid of The Laura Brennan Charitable Trust.
These brave souls set off early Thursday morning and thankfully the weather was superb -
blue skies and sunshine all the way. An overnight stay in Templemore before the onward journey
to Cork on the Friday morning. Unfortunately the lovely weather of the Thursday was replaced by less
than favourable weather on Friday. Still, cold, wet and weather beaten the troupe arrived safely
and successfully in Cork, led in the YELLOW jersey by the one and only Andy Murphy.
Thanks to the fundraising efforts of all involved a total of €10,000 was raised for The Laura Brennan Charitable Trust.
Our sincere thanks and gratitude to Kevin Nolan and Brain Graydon from the Bridewell Gardaí
who made this event possible and also to Fiona & Andy Murphy whose efforts enabled
The Laura Brennan Charitable Trust to be the beneficiaries of this heroic event.
