10th Anniversary Gala Evening - 24th March 2018

The 10th annual Laura Brennan Charitable Trust Gala Evening took place on Saturday the 24th March 2018. This year's event was 'extra' special with it being our 10th anniversary and to mark the occasion we ran with a 'Black Tie' event. Over 200 people were in attendance and all looking forward to a really special and successful evening. The venue once again was the wonderful Grand Hotel in Malahide and began with a Champagne Reception. Guests were greeted on arrival by The Celtic Rhythm Drummers who played a lively set in the hotel foyer before leading everyone into the function room.

Our MC for the 3rd year running was the wonderful Síle Seoige. Denise Alford spoke about the work of the Charity and played a testimonial video of how the work of the charity does make a difference. Nuala & Pat welcomed everyone and especially remembered Laura. They also spoke about the numerous fundraising events that had taken place during the year and expressed their heartfelt thanks to all those involved. Everybody was presented a charity bracelet bearing an inscription from Laura's own Bebo site - "Life's Too Short to be Anything But Happy - LB". The after-dinner entertainment was a spectacular 'dance off' between the Celtic Rhythm Dancers and was followed by the wonderfully talented Jack2Jack who ensured that the dance floor was full all night long.

To date we have been privileged and honoured to be able to offer assistance to over 150 children and their families to the tune of almost €500,000. This would not have been possible without the continued support of so many people. We continue to receive massive local fundraising support from schools, businesses, sporting groups and individuals. The charity is 100% voluntary with 99% of all funds raised going towards helping those children and their families that need help.

Our sincere thanks to all who attended our Gala Evening and who continue to support the efforts of the Trust - we really look forward to seeing everyone again next year.
