12.09.2013 - 2013 Golf Classic

The 5th Annual Laura Brennan Charitable Trust Golf Classic took place on Thursday 12th September 2013 once again in the beautiful surroundings of Malahide Golf Club.
Fourteen teams took part in this Stableford competition with the best two players counting on every hole.
As you all know we have been enjoying a wonderful summer with rainy days few and far between. Imagine my absolute horror when with about 2 hours before the start of this year’s event the heavens opened. Trying to get all the goody bags from the car to the clubhouse proved to be a very wet experience – the fact that we were carrying paper bags didn’t help. I almost had a total meltdown but thankfully around 1:45pm, as everybody was making their way out to their designated start slot, the rain eased to nothing more than a fine drizzle. Laura you must have been looking out for us. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and the scoring reflected the good conditions. We could only separate the top 3 teams on back nine scores. Congratulation to the winning team of Eamon Donnelly, Terry Molloy, Seán Donnelly and Bob McAdoo. The event proved to be a tremendous success in no small thanks to so many people:

We managed to raise the wonderful sum of €6,000 on the day. Can I take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you so much – to those who participated, sponsored a hole or helped in any way.
