09.09.09 - Kilcock Golf Club - Senior's Charity Day

Kilcock Seniors Charity Competition was held on Wednesday the 9th last on, what can only be described as one of the finest days this Summer. The Laura Brennan Trust was the charity nominated this year by our Captain Jack O’Brien.

We had 31 players who turned out and enjoyed a very pleasant day’s golf. It’s a measure of the high esteem in which Paddy Brennan is held that so many seniors wished to contribute to this very deserving charity. A total of €365 was donated and the treasurer informs me that a further 100 euro has since been contributed.

I’m sure that Paddy’s granddaughter Laura was smiling down on Kilcock on the day and brought a ray of sunshine into all of our lives. We thank all who helped, Dan Murphy who looked after the book, Tom Cassells who kept the proceedings moving and produced the results at the end of the comp. and of course all of you who played.

The first place went to Pat McDermott with 39pts in 2nd Peter Little with 38pts and hot on their heels in 3rd place with 37pts was Laura’s Granddad, Paddy Brennan, well done all and again thanks Paddy for giving all of us the opportunity to be associated with The Laura Brennan Charitable Trust.
