09.09.09 - The Laura Brennan Perennial Cup League 2009
Malahide volunteer Paul Kavanagh has been involved in
"The Laura Brennan Charitable Trust” from the
time it was founded in the summer of 2008. The Trust was
set-up by Laura’s parents Nuala and Pat, shortly
after Laura tragically passed away in April 2008 after
a short illness. Paul wanted to get involved and set up
the “Laura Brennan Perennial Cup League” which
has become an annual event. This year Nann United became
the 2nd team to take victory as winners of the cup. The
league is made up of eight football teams from Malahide
and all funds raised go to the Trust. Paul has been working
in the United States for the last year but despite this
he has still managed to organize this year’s event
with his friend Stephen Reddy. A great day was had by
all in the sporting fields of Malahide Castle and a magnificent
sum of €3,000 was raised for the Trust.
Everybody is already looking forward to next year’s
event.
