22.01.2011 - Fundraising
Night in Malahide Rugby Club On the 22nd of
January 2011 myself , Alan Bermingham and two of my
peers David Herity and Ian Bracken hosted a
Fundraiser night in the Malahide rugby club in aid of
the Laura Brennan Charitable Trust and the Ross Nugent
Foundation. We discussed how we could collectively raise
money for the two charities and get everyone in our year
group engaged at the same time. The rugby club were
generous enough to let us use there function room for
the night so we could have use of the bar and space for
the DJ's to set up and provide the music for the night.
So it was agreed that this would definitely something we
should go ahead with. We started printing tickets and
sold them in school and to past pupils. People took
great interest when they heard where the money was going
and saw this as a good way to support the
charities.
On the night Jack Ryan and Steven
Tierney kindly stepped forward to sell tickets on the
door which also helped generate more money for the
cause. There was a great turn out and the night was an
all round success. Everyone enjoyed themselves and there
were no major problems. Our target goal in which we
aimed to reach was €1000 and
to our delight it was exceeded. It was a great privilege
to get involved to help these wonderful
charities.
