14.01.2011 – Malahide Community School - The Sponsored Sleepover

 

On the 14th of January, 2011, the 6th Year LCVP class in Malahide Community School organised a Sponsored Sleepover. The sleepover was in aid of The Laura Brennan Charitable Trust, The Ross Nugent Foundation and Focus Ireland.

The students participating in the sleepover raised over €1000 for each of our chosen charities through sponsorship. The generous commitment from everyone involved, both with their time and money made the night a tremendous success.

The night itself was packed with organised and funfilled activities including salsa dancing, movies, a DJ playing a wide variety of music and a ‘Cake Sale’. One of the highlights of the night was the donation by ‘Dominos Pizza’ Swords branch, of thirty large pizzas. They really went down a treat!

The Sleepover could not have gone ahead without the enthusiasm, support and participation of teachers, school staff and the local community. Our deepest thanks are due to the principal and the Board of Management for their permission to hold the event in the school.

It was a wonderful and delightful experience to raise money in aid of such worthwhile causes, especially those that are dear to the hearts of the community of Malahide.
