News & Events 30.10.2013 - Standard Life raise €30,000 for the Laura Brennan Charitable Trust
The 2013 charity partner as voted for by the employees of Standard Life is the Laura Brennan Charitable Trust.
Established in 2008 by Pat & Nuala Brennan the purpose of the Trust is to raise much needed funds to support children up to the age of 18 who suffer from serious, life threatening or life limiting illnesses. The Trust also seeks to ensure that remaining family members, brothers and sisters are not forgotten throughout the duration of such illnesses. Pat & Nuala set up this worthy charity in memory of their beloved daughter Laura who passed away following a short and sudden illness. Laura was just 16 years old and a beautiful, intelligent, talented and caring young lady.
Standard Life employees have chosen this charity in support of one of their colleagues whos son benefits from the work of the Trust. They have so far raised €30,000 through lots of fun activities like Bake Sales, Charity Runs and Cycles, Adventure Races, Fancy Dress and a very creative “Ton of Cash” campaign. They are aiming a collect a physical Ton of Cash with your unwanted coins!
Nigel Dunne, CEO of Standard Life said “This is a great achievement so far for our staff, especially as we are an office of approximately 200 people. These funds are going to a fantastic organisation which is making a huge difference in many people’s lives”.
